How can I benefit from Toastmasters?

At Toastmasters, you'll learn to relax, plan, and present a terrific speech, whether you have 10 days to prepare - or just 10 seconds.  Whether you're speaking to your staff, your co-workers, or your kids, Toastmasters can help you do it better.  You'll learn and practice in a friendly, comfortable environment with people who are there for the same reason you are - to become better communicators.

How much does it cost?

Attend meetings up to three times as a guest with no obligation. After one-time, setup fees of approximately $25, membership dues are $78 per year or $39 each half year (prorated based upon the month you join). Your employer may cover these costs as an educational expense

How do I get there?

Meetings are held in Special Functions Rm. 1 of the Aetna Middletown Facility - 1000 Middle St., Middletown, CT.  (I-91 to Exit 21)  Outside guests may contact one of our officers at http://www237.pair.com/tm5908/Contacts.htm at least one day prior to a scheduled meeting for detailed directions.

How much of my time will be required?

Meetings are held once every other week on Tuesday at 4:30 and normally last 1-2 hours.  You will sometimes need to set aside from 15 to 45 minutes of your time to prepare if you are playing a role in the meeting.  Additional time will be spent preparing your speeches.  Speech sign up is voluntary, so go at your own pace.  Most members speak once every third or fourth meeting.
